In June, 2018, we welcomed Louise Troutman as our new Executive Director. Louise is a long-time conservationist with experience in municipal government. She is a dedicated, community-minded public servant, having served 6 years as Paradise Twp. supervisor. She also served as a member of the Paradise Twp. planning commission, Environmental Advisory Committee, and Parks & Rec Committee. In addition, she was a member of the Regional Open Space Committee and Pocono Area Recreation Commission. Louise has also worked in the private sector as a telecommunications process engineer and project manager. She and her husband Dave co-own Pocono Lawn & Landscape, Inc. and have two children.

Matt Schultz has been PHLT’s Stewardship Manager since early 2019. He is responsible for developing and improving visitor amenities for PHLT's nature preserve system. He also leads supervised volunteers in wide-ranging tasks, from document review, trail maintenance and ecological restoration.
Matt grew up in southwestern PA. In the ensuing years after graduating college, he has worked as a wildlife biologist throughout the Midwest, a land steward in Michigan, and a restoration ecologist in Oregon. Returning to the Keystone State, he is excited to explore, document, and protect the tremendous biodiversity of northeastern Pennsylvania. He lives in Scranton with his wife, Anne, and two daughters, Sophia and Nora. 

Kayla O'Connor joined PHLT in August 2024. She has spent the majority of her life living in the beautiful natural surroundings of Monroe County, PA. She deeply appreciates the untouched parts of "old Poconos”. She considers herself part of the last generation who grew up playing in the woods without the reigns of technology. With dual associate degrees in Communication Design and General Studies, she is currently pursuing a degree in Interactive and Graphic Design at Millersville University. Kayla is known throughout the Poconos for her various murals, public art displays, event work, confectionery, and floral design. She feels privileged to be working at PHLT where she can use her passion for events and design to bring environmental awareness and foster community building.

Yesenia Leon started in September 2024 as Land Protection Coordinator. She was formerly an office manager at a dental office, and after 15 years working in the dental field she decided to change careers and went back to school. She graduated from Cedar Crest College in May 2024, earning a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Conservation. She loves to travel and also enjoys volunteering and serving the community. She lives in the Lehigh Valley with her husband and daughter.

Christina (Chris) Grape-Garvey joined the PHLT team in June 2025, bringing a passion for nature, fundraising and relationship-building. A longtime resident of Pocono Township, she is a tree hugger and concerned about preserving the beauty of our area. Her background includes a wealth of experience in nonprofit and corporate marketing communications, development, special events, public relations and capital/awareness campaigns. Chris holds a B.A. in communications from William Paterson University and has been a journalist, writing for daily and weekly newspapers. Photography is another one of her passions, as is education – she serves on the Pocono Mountain School District Board. She has also been involved with many community organizations. Chris has two daughters, two cats, and is dog mom to Finley, a silly English Cream Golden Retriever who loves walks in the woods.
