Louise Troutman

Executive Director

In June, 2018, we welcomed Louise Troutman as our new Executive Director. Louise is a long-time conservationist with experience in municipal government. She is a dedicated, community-minded public servant, having served 6 years as Paradise Twp. supervisor. She also served as a member of the Paradise Twp. planning commission, Environmental Advisory Committee, and Paks & Rec Committee. In addition, she was a member of the Regional Open Space Committee and Pocono Area Recreation Commission. Louise has also worked in the private sector as a telecommunications process engineer and project manager. She and her husband Dave co-own Pocono Lawn & Landscape, Inc. and have two children, Katie, a sophomore at Sarah Lawrence College, and Eric, a junior at Evergreen Community Charter School.

Matt Schultz

Matt Schultz has been PHLT’s Stewardship Manager since early 2019. He is responsible for developing and improving visitor amenities for PHLT's nature preserve system. He also leads supervised volunteers in wide-ranging tasks, from document review, trail maintenance and ecological restoration.
Matt grew up in southwestern PA. In the ensuing years after graduating college, he has worked as a wildlife biologist throughout the Midwest, a land steward in Michigan, and a restoration ecologist in Oregon. Returning to the Keystone State, he is excited to explore, document, and protect the tremendous biodiversity of northeastern Pennsylvania. He lives in Scranton with his wife, Anne, and two daughters, Sophia and Nora.

Jennifer Shukaitis

Development/Fundraising Director

Jennifer is the oldest granddaughter of Nancy Shukaitis, a champion defender of the Delaware River. Jennifer serves as Vice President of the Stroud Region Open Space and Recreation Commission and the Act 137 Affordable Housing Board. She has served as Secretary of the Brodhead Watershed Association and currently serves on the boards of Penn Future and the Monroe County Penn State Extension. Jennifer also serves as Chairwoman of the Stroud Township Board of Supervisors, working together with local organizations, local and state government, and the community to ensure fair and responsible zoning, investment in open space and preservation of our precious natural resources.
Jennifer has worked as a medical coder in the healthcare industry and has over 24 years of business management and marketing experience. Aside from her community engagement on various fundraising and activities committees, Jennifer helps local leaders create and implement success strategies to be effective managers and achievers, and she spends her free time in the outdoors of the Pocono Mountains with her golden retrievers.
